Process Work
This Portland Rose Festival Poster was for a project that focused on manipulation of Typography as a means to portray necessary information in a relevant way that is also visually interesting. My personal knowledge of this particular festival aided in the optical construction of the magical feeling that the summer Portland Rose Festival encapsulates. The design I produced played with offsetting the size of letters within a word, distorting the closed counters, and reorganizing the layout of the individual words while reviving the colors utilized in vintage rose festival posters. My final poster embodies the warm spirit of a summertime flower festival within the limits of a substantial city by combining honest experience with typographical manipulation.
